About Fundases

Fundases is a Colombian foundation belonging to the El Minuto de Dios group, focused on promoting health, sustainable rural development, and environmental protection. Its laboratory performs physicochemical and microbiological analyses of drinking water (in accordance with Resolution 0229 of 2024) and analyses of agricultural bioinputs, and is registered with ICA.

Faced with the expansion of its laboratory activities and the pursuit of ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, Fundases chose Actiz LIMS as the platform to automate its routines and consolidate quality management through technology.

Before Actiz LIMS, the laboratory operated with a limited in-house system, along with records kept in Excel spreadsheets. This setup created challenges such as:

The implementation followed Fundases’ own pace, respecting its internal priorities. The project ran for 3 months of continuous activity, interrupted by a 2-month pause due to Fundases’ internal demands. Fundases created custom reports tailored to its reality, including elements such as traditional scientific notation — making them easier to read for users with different education levels. Notably, no complex custom development was needed, since Actiz LIMS itself offers the flexibility and tools to configure reports simply and efficiently.

During implementation, the Fundases team received live training, support materials, and ongoing consulting. After going live, Actiz’s technical support remains available, offering fast responses, effective solutions, and service recognized for its availability and expertise.

Fundases experienced gains on several fronts after digitalizing with Actiz LIMS:

• Fewer errors, more confidence: errors used to be common between collection, Excel, and the system. Today, with automatic validations, these problems have been virtually eliminated.
• Faster report issuance: with automated, reusable reports, issuance became standardized, cutting the number of templates from 30 to about 15.
• Controlled supply management: integration with accounting and inventory workflows brought more organization and fluidity.
• Greater security and traceability: the system logs even deleted operations, ensuring a complete history of every action.
• Production control and data integration: with unique codes per sample and custom reports, Fundases improved batch organization and now handles audits with more agility.
